Trip Insurance Terms (Summary)
Draft: not yet in force
Draft of 7 October 2026 for review by a qualified Indian lawyer before publication. It is not legal advice. Highlighted items in [square brackets] are still to be filled in.
Vihara is a product of Naptrix Labs Private Limited, a company incorporated in India with its registered office in Hyderabad, Telangana (“Naptrix Labs”, “Vihara”, “we”, “us”). Vihara runs an online marketplace that connects people who want a chauffeur-driven vehicle for a long trip (“Travellers”) with owners of commercial vehicles who provide the vehicle and driver (“Hosts”).
Trip cover is optional and is provided by [Insurer name], an insurer registered with IRDAI, under a group policy. Vihara is not the insurer; the policy document issued to you governs, and this summary does not replace it.
| Passenger cover | Vehicle cover | |
|---|---|---|
| Chosen by | The Traveller, at checkout | The Host, per vehicle or per trip |
| Covers | Accidental death or permanent disability up to ₹5,00,000 per traveller; hospital costs after an accident up to ₹1,00,000 per traveller | Damage to the vehicle during the trip days, on top of the Host’s own policy |
| Price | [₹25] per traveller per day, shown before payment | [₹40–₹150] per day by vehicle class, deducted at settlement |
| Period | From the start odometer reading to the end reading | Same |
| Deductible | None | [₹5,000] per claim |
| Main exclusions | Injury from intoxication, self-harm, illegal acts, or pre-existing conditions | Wear and tear, mechanical breakdown, driving without a valid licence or permit, driving under the influence, use outside the booked trip |
How to claim: report the incident in the app within 24 hours (SOS or Help → Report an incident), with photos and, for injury or theft, a police report. The insurer settles the claim directly with you.
Cancellation: the premium is refunded in full if the booking is cancelled before the trip starts.
Vihara receives a commission from the insurer for arranging this cover.
