Common questions
Is Vihara a cab company?
No. Vihara is a marketplace. Owners of SUVs, sedans and tempo travellers quote for your trip and drive it, or send their driver. You choose the quote; we hold your payment until the trip is settled.
Why can’t I see a price before I ask for quotes?
Because the price is the owner’s, not ours. Each owner sees your route and sends a quote with the kilometres included, the rate after that and the driver’s daily bata. That is why this site shows no fares for routes: only the quotes owners send are real.
Can I book on the website?
No. Quotes, payment and the trip itself happen in the Vihara app, so you get the pickup code, the driver details and SOS on your phone.
Where does Vihara work?
We are starting with trips from across Telangana, from Hyderabad to Jagtial and beyond. If you are somewhere else, join the waitlist and we will let you know when we open near you.
How do I cancel, and what do I get back?
Cancel in the app; the refund for that moment is shown before you confirm. More than 72 hours before the start you get the full fare back (not the booking fee); 24 to 72 hours, the fare minus 10%; under 24 hours, the fare minus 25%.
What if the owner cancels?
You are offered the next-best valid quote at its quoted price, and Vihara pays any difference up to 10% of the original fare. If you don’t want it, you get a full refund including the booking fee.
When do I get the driver’s details?
Three hours before the trip starts, in the app. The owner’s business name is shown when you pay.
How long do refunds take?
We start the refund within 2 working days of the cancellation, to your original payment method. Banks can take 5 to 7 working days to credit it.
Are tolls and parking included?
No. Tolls, parking, state permits and entry taxes are paid by you directly as they come up. Vihara never adds them to the fare or marks them up.
What if we drive more kilometres than the quote includes?
Extra kilometres are charged after the trip at the extra-km rate on the quote, measured from the odometer photos at the start and end. If you drive less, there is no refund for unused kilometres.
Why does the distance include the owner’s drive to my pickup?
Every trip starts and ends where the car is parked. The quote counts the drive from the car to your pickup and from your drop back to the car, and shows you that number, so a car parked near you costs less to bring to you.
